Palm Springs Pool & Facility Rules We want everyone to enjoy a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment.
Please read and follow these rules at all times.
Supervising Your Children
-
All children aged 10 years and under must be actively supervised by a caregiver aged 17 years or older.

Children 4 years and under: Caregiver must be in the water, within arm’s reach.

Children 5–10 years: Caregiver must be able to provide immediate assistance from the poolside.

Supervision ratios: - One adult may supervise up to two children aged 4 years and under. - One adult may supervise up to four children aged 5–10 years. - Mixed ages: One adult may supervise one child aged 4 years and under, and up to three children aged 5–10 years at the same time.

You are not considered actively supervising if using a mobile phone, or if you are in a different area.

If you cannot meet these supervision ratios, entry may be refused.

All children under 10 years old who are unable to swim must wear a life jacket at all times in the pool.

Health, Safety & Hygiene

Follow all facility safety and hygiene guidelines, as well as any posted instructions, at all times.

Shower and use the toilet before entering the pool.
-
Do not enter the pool if you are unwell, have had diarrhoea or vomiting in the past two weeks, or have open wounds or infectious conditions.

Avoid prolonged breath holding or hyperventilating underwater, as this can be dangerous.

Check the depth of the pool before entering, especially if you are not a confident swimmer.

If you have a medical condition (such as epilepsy, asthma, diabetes, heart or vascular conditions), please inform staff or a lifeguard before swimming.

Guests who are unwell or unable to maintain personal hygiene that could result in contamination of the water must not use the pool.

Guests must not enter the pool while wearing beauty masks (face packs) or with freshly dyed hair.
-
All guests must use toilets for all toileting needs.

Children under 4 must wear waterproof swim nappies at all times in the pool. Please change swim nappies regularly and dispose of them properly. Standard/disposable nappies are not allowed in the pool.

No food in or around pool areas (only water is permitted).
-
Glass and breakable items are not allowed in the pool area.
-
No running, yelling, excessive splashing, jumping, or diving in or around the pool.
-
Do not push, fight, interfere with others’ swimming, or engage in any other unsafe behaviour.
-
Always follow staff and lifeguard instructions.

In the hot pools (Rock Pool), follow all posted or staff-provided safety instructions at all times.

Guests over 65, those with heart conditions, vascular conditions, pregnant persons, or anyone with a skin condition should consult a doctor before using hot pools. Limit use to 15 minutes at a time.​​

Changing Rooms & Showers

Use water for its intended purpose only (no laundry, etc.).

Limit showers to 10 minutes.

Do not use hand sanitiser as shampoo or body wash.

The use of mobile phones and other electronic devices is not permitted in changing rooms, showers, or toilets. This includes making calls, texting, or using the camera function, in order to protect the privacy of all guests.

To support privacy and comfort, individual curtained spaces are available in each changing room and must be used when changing clothing or engaging in any activity that may involve removal of garments. Please do not expose private areas of the body in any common area, including shared spaces within changing rooms. This applies equally to all, regardless of gender or gender identity. Failure to follow this policy may result in a warning or, in some cases, removal from the premises.

For the avoidance of doubt, guests must not be nude or expose private areas in any shared or common area of the changing rooms. Nudity or exposure is only permitted inside a curtained private changing area, shower cubicle, or individual toilet cubicle. When moving between these areas, guests must be appropriately covered at all times (e.g., by swimwear, towel, or clothing), out of respect for the comfort and privacy of others. Any guest who breaches this rule, whether intentionally or unintentionally, and causes discomfort or grievance to others may be asked to leave the facility at the discretion of staff or management.

Appropriate Swimwear

Only approved swimwear is allowed: swimsuit, bikini, tankini, swim shorts, rash shirt, modesty swimwear, swim briefs, and swim nappies (for children under 4).

Underwear, denim, cotton clothing, loose-fitting garments, see-through or transparent clothing, and nudity are not permitted in the pool. Swimwear must provide adequate coverage at all times.

If you are unsure whether your swimwear is appropriate, please ask a staff member before entering the pool.

Behaviour

Be considerate of other guests at all times. Do not engage in any behaviour that may cause discomfort to others, including body scrubbing, spitting, or washing hair under water features.

Do not engage in any sexual behaviour or conduct likely to cause disgust or offence to others.

Do not play loud music or watch videos (e.g. YouTube, social media) at a volume that may disturb others, in any area of the facility.

Use of speakerphones or any device that creates a disturbance is not allowed. 38. Personal music players, musical instruments, and similar equipment are not allowed.

Do not leave personal belongings in the restaurant area while using the pool.
-
Dry off before entering the restaurant area from the pool.
-
Do not enter staff-only areas (e.g. staff room and around the coffee machine).

Privacy and Recording

To protect the privacy and comfort of all guests, any photographing, filming, videoing, or other visual recording of individuals is prohibited without their clear and informed consent.This applies throughout the facility, including poolside, changing rooms, and all shared areas. Personal devices may be used for communication and ordinary purposes, but not in a way that infringes on others’ privacy. Breaches may result in a warning or removal from the premises.

General Rules

Smoking (including vaping and e-cigarettes), the use or possession of tobacco, alcohol, drugs, or related substances, and being under the influence of alcohol or drugs, are strictly prohibited anywhere in the facility, including the pool area, changing rooms, and all facility grounds.

No guest may enter or remain in the facility or pool area while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or while actively smoking.

All related items—such as cigarettes, e-cigarettes, alcohol, illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, or similar substances—are strictly banned from the facility.

Staff and management reserve the right to immediately remove any person from the facility who is found smoking, consuming alcohol, using drugs, or who, in the reasonable opinion of staff or management (at their sole discretion), appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, if they believe it is necessary for the safety and wellbeing of other guests and staff.

Staff and management may, at their sole discretion, require any item or piece of equipment to be removed from the facility or pool area if they believe it is not appropriate or safe for use within the facility, or is otherwise unsuitable for the environment or for other guests’ comfort and safety. This includes, but is not limited to, items that are noisy, disruptive, potentially dangerous, or inconsistent with the purpose of the facility.

Cooking or using cooking appliances is strictly prohibited anywhere in the facility or on its grounds.

Private swimming lessons, coaching, or instruction may not be conducted in the facility without prior authorisation from Palm Springs management.

Poolside umbrellas and sunshades may only be operated by staff.

Palm Springs is not responsible for any lost or stolen property. Any items found on the premises will be held at reception for a limited time. Guests are encouraged to check for their belongings before leaving. Unclaimed items may be disposed of or donated at the facility’s discretion.

The facility is not liable for any vehicle accidents or thefts in the car park.

Palm Springs reserves the right to close the facility, or any part of it, at any time for maintenance, emergencies, or at the discretion of staff or management. Guests will be required to comply with all closure instructions for their safety.

No animals are permitted within Palm Springs, except for registered assistance dogs. Guests must inform staff if bringing an assistance dog onto the premises.

Chewing gum is not permitted anywhere in the pool or surrounding areas. Please dispose of gum responsibly before entering the facility.

Staff Training Commitment: Palm Springs provides training for staff to improve awareness of legal obligations under the Human Rights Act, and to support respectful, inclusive, and safe interactions with all guests. Training also covers conflict resolution and communication practices.

Non-Discrimination and Access Policy: Palm Springs reaffirms its commitment to providing services in accordance with the Human Rights Act 1993. All individuals, including transgender women, are entitled to access facilities that align with their gender identity. No guest will be excluded from gender-specific spaces on the basis of gender identity.

Failure to comply with these rules or staff instructions may result in you being asked to leave
